OVERVIEW
About Great Commission Foundation:
Great Commission Foundation is a 1-star charity with a low results reporting grade. It publicly reports very little information on its $20m of programs and grants. Before you give, read Charity Intelligence's report.
Founded in 2002, Great Commission Foundation (GCF) provides accounting and administrative help to Christian missionaries and charities. GCF allows clients to focus on their ministry rather than administration. Its main services are processing donations and issuing tax receipts, bookkeeping and accounting, payroll and benefits, and CRA compliance.
Canadians donate to partner missionaries and charities through GCF. At the time of writing this report, 457 partner organizations and individual projects were listed on the foundation’s website.
Great Commission Foundation has common board members with G2G Foundation which holds assets for use by other charities working to spread Christianity. GCF granted to G2G: $30k in F2021, $39k in F2020, and $57k in F2019. Money also flowed from G2G to GCF: $305k in F2021, $53k in F2020, and $569k in F2019.
GCF shares board members with Friends of the Great Commission, a charity registered in the US. Through this charity, GCF works with donors in the US and offers IRS compliance services.

Finances
Great Commission Foundation received $34.9m in donations in F2021. The charity also received $826k in government funding. Administrative costs are 9% of revenues (less investment income) and fundraising costs are 1% of donations. GCF spends 10% on overhead. This means for every dollar donated, 90 cents go towards the charity’s programs. This is within Ci’s reasonable range for overhead spending.
GCF has $19.5m in funding reserves which could cover 6 months of program costs.

We work to fulfill the Great Commission by relieving our agents from the backend administrative work necessary to operate with integrity and transparency so they can focus on the practical ministry work desperately needed on the mission field at home and abroad. We have hundreds of projects working internationally to provide relief from poverty, advancement in education, and advancement of the Christian faith. We look forward to sharing more data about the amazing work that is being done in the field
