About Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation:
Founded in 1984, Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation (RAHF) raises funds for patient care, technology and research at Royal Alexandra Hospital, Lois Hole Hospital for Women, CK Hui Heart Centre and Eye Institute of Alberta. RAHF also works with University of Alberta to advance research. The charity aims to improve health care in Alberta.
In F2015, Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation allocated $7.9m to patient care, technology and research. RAHF donated $3.4m to Lois Hole Hospital for Women to support the daVinci Robotic Surgery, a minimally invasive surgery program. The centre performs one robotic surgery every day. RAHF granted $1m to Women and Children’s Health Research Institute, $1m to Inner City Health and Wellness and $0.8m to Campaign for Prostate Health. By supporting the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation funds treatment for half a million patients. In F2015, the hospital had 72,500 patient visits and performed 4,000 surgeries. Through its research funding, RAHF supported 11 clinical trials, 28 student awards and 28 research projects.
