Amici Children's Camp Charity added the following comment to the 2025 profile:

A note about Amici’s impact:

Amici Children’s Camp Charity delivers an exceptional return on investment for donors, transforming lives through the power of summer camp. At a time when the cost of overnight camps across Ontario is increasingly out of reach for many families, Amici ensures that children from low-income households have access to these life-changing experiences, not just once, but year-after-year.

Amici partners with 48 overnight summer camps, accredited by the Ontario Camps Association,  which generously subsidize 50% of each camper’s fees. This unique collaboration means that every donor dollar spent on campers’ fees is matched, effectively doubling the impact, allowing Amici to stretch resources further and support more children with the highest quality camp experiences.

But the true measure of Amici’s impact goes beyond cost-effectiveness. Overnight summer camp provides children with much more than just fun and adventure. For the young people Amici supports, camp becomes a foundational environment for building confidence, cultivating leadership skills and developing emotional resilience. These are not short-term benefits, they are lifelong assets that shape who they become as adults.

What sets Amici apart is our commitment to long-term engagement. When a child joins our program, they are welcomed into a multi-year journey. Each summer, they return to a consistent and supportive environment. By combining financial efficiency with deep, sustained impact, camp becomes a stable touchpoint in the lives of Amici campers; where trusted mentors, friendships and unplugged outdoor experiences nurture their growth and sense of belonging.
