About Acclaim Health:
Acclaim Health is dedicated to providing a broad spectrum of community health support services to Burlington, Oakville, Milton, Georgetown, Acton, Campbellville and surrounding areas. Its mission is to “provide people with quality, community-based health care solutions.”
In F2016, Acclaim Health’s 375 staff and over 650 volunteers provided home visits and other healthcare services to almost 24,000 clients. It helps clients by assisting isolated seniors, preserving the independence of those needing help at home, and providing relief for caregivers. Acclaim Health’s integrated Alzheimer Services offers a Seniors Day program that provides therapeutic socialization and recreation for dementia patients. It also offers Home Health Care through its nursing, home and personal support and Philips Lifeline programs. Acclaim Health launched a bereavement peer support program in Halton in June 2014, which offers clients one-on-one support.
In F2016, Acclaim Health fully implemented its Alayacare web-based application for all Health Services patients, giving nurses and personal support workers access to patients’ information and charts. Further, since its opening in October, 2015, Oakville Health Link has accepted 40 patients with complex healthcare needs. Oakville Health Link works with the highest needs patients, involving them in setting and meeting healthcare goals. Acclaim Health reports that 18 of its 40 patients have achieved their healthcare goals.
Acclaim Health reports that it has a 99% client satisfaction rate and that it is part of the Accreditation Canada Standards program.
Acclaim Health is a small-cap charity, with donations of $415k in F2016. Its administrative costs are 10% of revenues and its fundraising costs are 21% of donations. For every $1 donated to the charity, 69 cents is put towards its programs, falling within Ci’s reasonable range.
