Agincourt Community Services Association is a 4-star charity that is partially financially transparent. Its results reporting score is B+, which is above average. Its overhead spending is within Ci’s reasonable range. Its reserve funds can cover six months of annual program costs.
Founded in 1970, Agincourt Community Services Association (ACSA) is a Scarborough-based charity that serves those facing systemic poverty, hunger, homelessness, unemployment, and social isolation. ACSA reports that the need for its programs is higher in Scarborough, where 55% of the population are immigrants. ACSA runs four main programs: Homelessness and Housing Services; Child, Youth, and Family Supports; Emergency Food Access; and the Newcomers Centre. It does not provide a program spending breakdown.
Homelessness and Housing Services provides housing support and case management services. It also operates drop-in locations that provide meals, on-site medical services, and harm reduction services to people who use drugs. In F2023, ACSA provided 70,573 hot meals at its drop-in centres. It received 1,193 calls to its Housing Intake line and 275 applications from the Toronto Rent Bank program from those needing support with overdue payments or rental deposits.
Child, Youth, and Family Supports provides after-school and summer programs and workshops for elementary and middle school-aged children. These programs address social development, provide mental health services, and offer counseling. The program also provides workshops to parents and caregivers. In F2023, 474 parents or guardians attended various workshops and 9,881 children visited early development programs.
Emergency Food Access runs a food bank and various food security workshops. In F2023, ACSA served 6,298 meals and ran 36 workshops. These served 234,476 individuals across 74,666 households.
