About L'Orchestre Symphonique De Quebec:

Founded in 1902, Orchestre Symphonique de Quebec (OSQ) is Canada’s oldest symphony orchestra. Its mission is to interpret and promote symphonies by offering concerts and musical activities to the public of all ages and walks of life in Quebec City and the surrounding areas.

OSQ is composed of 66 permanent musicians who perform pieces by Quebecois, Canadian and foreign composers. The Orchestre plays to over 100,000 people per year. It contributes to the cultural development of future generations through enriching school programs, including Symphonic Matinees for primary schools and repetitions for secondary schools. To support future generations in music, the OSQ regularly collaborates with the Conservatoire de Musique de Quebec and Université Laval’s Faculty of Music.

In 2016, OSQ was nominated twice in the 20th prix Opus in the Concert of the Year – Quebec category and was nominated for the Prize of Excellence of Arts and Culture by the Government of Quebec.
