OVERVIEW

About Banff Centre:

Banff Centre is a 2-star charity. It is financially transparent and has reasonable overhead costs but has a below-average results reporting grade.

Founded in 1933, Banff Centre works to inspire people and unleash their creative potential. The charity aspires to become the global leader in arts, culture, and creativity. Banff Centre runs programs that develop artists and leaders with the goal of creating works and ideas that are shared globally. The charity’s main programs focus on arts and leadership. Through its programs, Banff Centre hopes to connect individuals who share the same commitment to creating positive change in the arts community. Banff Centre's Arts programs cover the performing, visual, Indigenous, and literacy arts.

In F2022, Banff Centre held 27 arts training programs, of which 12 were online and 15 were in person. Some of these programs include Evolution: Classical, a two-week artist development program for instrumentalists and vocalists. It also ran the Indigenous Haute Couture Fashion Residency, a three-week residency that helped Indigenous textile-based artists develop their design and pattern development skills.

Banff Centre also ran nine online Indigenous leadership programs in F2022. These programs teach leaders how to establish a strategic direction for their communities and organizations, implement that plan through focused effort, and measure performance.

Across its programs, Banff Centre had 11,949 participant days in F2022, up 152% from the year prior.
