About True Patriot Love Foundation :

Founded in 2009, True Patriot Love Foundation (TPL) raises money to fund programs that support Canadian military members, veterans, and their families. TPL funds programs that fit into four focus areas: Stronger Military Families, Well-being and Mental Health, Rehabilitation and Recovery, and Connection with Communities. Since 2009, TPL states that it has committed $47m to fund research and support 1,065 community-based programs across Canada, impacting over 41,000 lives. The charity does not provide a breakdown of program costs.

In F2024, True Patriot Love Foundation granted to 40 programs across Canada, which reached over 1,000 active members of the Canadian Armed Forces. The charity reports that over 461,240 veterans and their families currently live in Canada.

Stronger Military Families programming addresses the needs of military and veteran families and supports spouses, caregivers, and children. True Patriot Love reports that one in four military families experience issues with personal well-being and mental health and one in ten military families experience strain in their relationships. TPL reports that there are 32 Military Family Resource Centres and 27 Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services Departments across the country.

Well-being and Mental Health programs acknowledge the effects that military service can have on those who serve and their families. TPL invests in mental health and transition programs. The charity reports that each year, 4,500 CAF members transition from military to civilian life. 38% of CAF members reported it was difficult to adjust to civilian life after serving. In F2024 CMHA York — a charity TPL grants to, provided suicide intervention training to 40 military personnel and their families.

Rehabilitation and Recovery programs provide accommodations that help severely injured military members and their families adjust to civilian life. TPL reports that 10% of Canadian Veterans live with PTSD. True Patriot Love Foundation led the bid process to secure the Invictus Games in Vancouver and Whistler in 2025. The Invictus Games is an international sporting event for service members and their families. In F2024, 31 Canadians participated in the Invictus Games in Dusseldorf, Germany.

Connection with Communities programs aim to foster connection with communities through mentorships, volunteering, and advocacy. Ci did not find any quantified information on this program.
