Founded in 1988, International Development and Relief Foundation (IDRF) works with local and international partners to run relief and development programs for vulnerable populations. In F2024, IDRF reached 4,321,634 people across 34 countries. IDRF runs six programs: Emergency Relief, Food Security, Health, Education, Economic Development, and WASH. In F2024, IDRF spent $26.4m on its programs, of which $4.3m was spent in Canada and $22.1m was spent internationally.

Emergency Response represented 37% of program costs in F2024. 96% of program costs were spent internationally. In F2024, IDRF reached 1,237,216 people. IDRF’s Emergency Response program focused on Gaza in F2024. The charity reports that since October 2023, over 2.3 million people across the Gaza Strip have been displaced, with over 40,000 killed. 70% of the victims have been women and children. In Gaza, IDRF provided medical support to 366,789 people and provided food parcels to 317,182 people. The charity reports it distributed 6,000 hot meals and 330,000 litres of water every day in Gaza.

Food Security represented 32% of program costs in F2024. 81% of program costs were spent internationally. In F2024, IDRF provided 967,457 people with food assistance. IDRF provides people in need with monthly food parcels, cash assistance, and food vouchers. In F2024, IDRF reached 87,900 people in Sudan, 22,261 people in Somalia, and 15,118 people in Yemen.

Health represented 14% of program costs in F2024. 77% of program costs were spent internationally. In F2024, IDRF provided 440,617 people with health care services. IDRF provides health care to countries affected by conflict or disaster, trains local healthcare workers, and invests in healthcare infrastructure. In F2024, IDRF reached 11,584 people through health projects in India. 13,777 women received care from midwives trained by IDRF.

Education represented 10% of program costs in F2024. 82% of program costs were spent internationally. In F2024, IDRF provided 111,073 people with educational support. The charity provides children with education, transportation, learning materials, and medical support. In F2024, IDRF provided access to education for 34,500 people in Pakistan, 27,360 people in Türkiye, and 5,000 people in Somalia.
