Action Canada for Sexual Health & Rights (Action Canada) is the Canadian branch of Planned Parenthood. It works to promote health, wellbeing, and rights related to sexuality and reproduction in Canada and globally. The charity focuses on abortion, contraception, comprehensive sexuality education (sex-ed), and advocacy. Action Canada runs three main programs: Direct Support and Stigma-Free Information, Engaging Policymakers and Promoting Rights, and Collaboration and Movement Building. In the fiscal year ending June 2025 (F2025), the charity spent $6.3m on its programs: $2.9m on international projects and $3.4m on programs in Canada. Action Canada advocates in Canada and globally for access to safe abortion, sex-ed, 2SLGBTQI+ rights, gender equality, and sex workers’ rights. In F2025, the charity received 33 media mentions, alongside 28 article features, seven radio or podcast appearances, and three television features. Its advocacy efforts also contributed to the federal government's decision to make the Sexual and Reproductive Health Fund permanent in December 2024.
Action Canada partners with human rights defenders, health care providers, and feminist coalitions to advocate together. Its Demand Better campaign, in collaboration with 88 organizations, got over 44 million impressions online and on billboards placed across the country.
